Kohima: The Ministry of Tribal Affairs and Nagaland’s E-School of Business signed a deal on August 7 to spark tribal entrepreneurship. They want to swap old barriers for modern success. The agreement was finalized at Kartavya Bhavan-I in New Delhi. Union Minister Jual Oram, Minister of State Durga Das Uikey, and Secretary Ranjana Chopra attended the event. Anant Prakash Pandey, Joint Secretary for the ministry, signed the pact.
E-School of Business works under the Startup Nagaland banner through the Department of Industries and Commerce. This partnership offers end-to-end support for tribal entrepreneurs. They provide mentorship, technical help, and market access. Officials hope to leverage traditional knowledge alongside modern business tactics. By building a better ecosystem, they want young people to become "job creators" who boost local growth. The initiative also connects tribal entrepreneurs to government schemes and financial institutions under the Atal Innovation Mission.
Separately, two Naga political factions moved toward peace. The NSCN (U), led by Nokpao Konyak and Alezo Venuh, and the GPRN/NNC (Apex Body), led by Francis Kikon, signed their own agreement on August 5. They committed to solidarity and long-term socio-political stability. Both groups pledged to resolve public grievances and work toward a final political settlement with the Government of India.
