Kohima: The Pfütsero Town Business Association ordered a half-day shutdown for August 14. Doors will stay locked until 12 noon. The closure centers on the theme of Naga unity, reconciliation, and oneness. It serves to honor the sacrifices of Naga forefathers while reflecting on historical aspirations.
PTBA President Vekusu Chuzho explained the move recognizes the contributions of national workers in Phek district. He wants Naga political groups to push for a unified future. The association stands firm against the current financial burden on traders. Chuzho stated, "multiple taxation and collections adversely affect businesses and the local economy."
The group is calling for a policy of one government and one tax. PTBA General Secretary Truvui Rhi linked these historical reflections to current economic stability. He wants to create enough local opportunity to keep the youth in Nagaland. Rhi framed the call for peace through a Christian lens, emphasizing forgiveness and justice.
Media Secretary Huveta Thuluo urged the public to approach the date with respect. He believes the struggles of the past remain a shared inheritance for all Naga people. The association wants leaders to ignore their differences and build a common platform.
