Aizawl: A Mizoram government impact study committee delivered its final report to Chief Minister Lalduhoma this Wednesday. They finished the work in ten months, beating their own one-year deadline by a full two months. The state wants to cash in on new logistics. Officials identified major trade and infrastructure hurdles standing in the way of the Kaladan Multi-Modal Transit Transport Project and the Bairabi-Sairang railway line.

The Kaladan project connects Mizoram through a web of river and road routes. Meanwhile, the rail link aims to tie the state into the national grid. The committee analyzed how these projects change the local economy. They warn that Mizoram must act now to handle the influx of trade. Proper preparation will dictate the final success of these routes.

Lalduhoma praised the quick turnaround. He plans to keep the committee on board to guide future policy decisions. "The state government would continue to seek the committee's assistance in following up on its recommendations and addressing related issues," Lalduhoma said. The report will now serve as a blueprint for the state as it handles incoming transport shifts.
