Agartala: Tripura Police detained a young man accused of raping a minor in the Maiganga area of the Krishnapur assembly constituency. The arrest followed a formal complaint lodged at the Teliamura Police Station.
Sub-Inspector Sumitra Debbarma is leading the investigation. Officials registered Case No. 53, citing Section 65(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Section 4(2) of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. The suspect is already in court custody. Police must now piece together exactly what happened.
The incident rattled the local community. Residents are demanding accountability for the crime. Police remain firm on the matter. "The matter is being pursued with seriousness and that all legal procedures will be followed to ensure justice," officials stated. Investigators continue to gather evidence to move the case forward.
