Agartala: Tripura Animal Resource Development Minister Sudhangshu Das spent three days this week in Anand, Gujarat, meeting with National Dairy Development Board officials. He aims to overhaul Tripura's dairy industry. The minister wants more milk and better pay for local farmers.
Das toured the NDDB headquarters between July 16 and July 18. He inspected the OPU-IVF Centre, the genomics lab, a fodder plant, and local cattle farms. He also visited the historic Sabarmati Ashram Gaushala, which Mahatma Gandhi started in 1915. He watched advanced artificial insemination techniques there. High-tech science drives these facilities. Das saw it firsthand.
The minister traveled with ARD Secretary Deepa D. Nair and Director Neeraj Kumar Chanchal. They sat down with the NDDB Chairman to talk about building new infrastructure, improving breeding programs, and securing the state's nutritional needs. Das emphasized that the state government wants to adopt these technology-driven solutions to create a more prosperous industry.
"I look forward to a significant and strong partnership between the ARD Department and NDDB to further strengthen Tripura's dairy industry," Das said. He also participated in a tree planting event at the NDDB campus to signal a commitment to environmental stewardship. He called the act a pledge to build a cleaner world for future generations. The state now prepares to turn these discussions into a concrete plan for sustainable growth.
