Agartala: Major General Anurag Vij met Tripura Chief Minister Prof Dr Manik Saha in Agartala on September 19. The pair hashed out plans to grow the National Cadet Corps throughout the state. Brigadier Anand Raj Singh and Colonel N S Baath joined the session to plot the expansion. They want more boots on the ground.
The NCC Directorate, North Eastern Region, plans to reach youth in deep rural pockets. Leaders discussed adding more schools and boosting cadet rolls. Better infrastructure remains the primary goal. They want to offer more military training, trekking, and leadership workshops. Officials also reviewed holding national integration camps in Agartala. These events help cadets swap cultures and build unity. As the Directorate noted, "The discussions are expected to support efforts to broaden the NCC network in Tripura."
Career guidance stands as a top priority for the group. They aim to show students paths into the Armed Forces and beyond. The NCC leadership requested ongoing backing from the state government to fund these programs. This push will bring development opportunities to underserved areas across the region.
