Agartala: Transport and Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury chaired his first administrative review meeting for Unakoti district on Wednesday, July 29. The session took place at the Kailashahar Circuit House. Senior officials and Panchayat representatives gathered to map out the district's future. The government wants change.
Chowdhury reviewed progress across several sectors: education, healthcare, agriculture, drinking water, roads, electricity, public services, and infrastructure. He directed staff to finish all public welfare projects on time. Quality and accountability must remain top priorities during every phase of construction and implementation.
The minister aims to turn Unakoti into a hub for tourism. He pointed to the region's historical, religious, and natural sites as primary growth drivers. Plans include better transport and communication networks to lure more visitors. He also wants to boost the rural economy by backing food processing industries that add value to local crops.
Chowdhury stressed that the administration's main goal is to integrate every household into the state's progress. He specifically highlighted the need for more jobs for the youth. The minister noted that the government works under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha to modernize the district.
Chowdhury declared, "Our pledge is to build a modern, prosperous, and promising Unakoti where every family is connected to the mainstream of development."
