Kohima: Students at the MDRC, Nagaland University, gathered at the Common Hall on September 3 to mark Teachers Day. They honored the MDRC coordinator and faculty from the Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, and Mathematics departments.
The morning kicked off with students from the first and third years delivering speeches. They discussed the significance of the holiday and the legacy of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. The mood turned lively as pupils performed songs and recited poems. One student spoke on the importance of teachers in shaping both society and research. The faculty joined in, offering wisdom and sharing personal stories.
Teachers surprised the crowd by singing and dancing during the interactive session. The students handed out gifts to the staff as a show of respect. One attendee noted, "The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by a student of MDRC, expressing sincere gratitude to the coordinator, faculty members and fellow students for making the event a grand success."
The event wrapped up with light refreshments. Everyone gathered for group photos before heading out.
