Kohima: St John College in Dimapur toasted seven of its own on August 17. These students cracked the Nagaland University Top Ten list. Nonya Konyak grabbed Rank 1 in Economics, while Sashimenla took Rank 5. Ashlesha Sen earned Rank 1 in Chemistry and Khongpe B claimed Rank 1 in Physics. Honom JN Yanlem hit Rank 6 in Political Science. Anoli K Awomi and Moasungla secured Rank 8 and 9 in Zoology.
Peter Banks, the administrative head, handed out Rs 10,000 to each Rank 1 winner. He praised the students for their hard work. Banks said, "Their achievements would challenge and set precedents for their juniors." The college keeps a decade-long streak of producing top-ranked students.
The University of Science and Technology Meghalaya recognized this excellence. It gave the college an Institutional Excellence Award for UG Science on June 20, 2026, at the Dimapur Town Hall. Keshenle Seb chaired the event. Faculty members Marshitet and Aojungla Jamir spoke during the ceremony. The students shared their personal academic journeys before Mentilong Jamir closed with a final prayer.
