Kohima: Nagaland University kicked off a six-day Hindi New Writing Camp on August 31, 2026. The event takes place at the Department of Hindi auditorium in Dimapur. It aims to help non-Hindi speakers improve their creative writing. The Central Hindi Directorate and the university are running the show together.
Dr. Munni Chaudhary opened the floor with a welcome speech. Then, Nathulal from the Central Hindi Directorate laid out the plan for the week. Dutt Tiwari, the CEO of Meghalaya and secretary to the Governor, attended as chief guest. Rohit Singh, the director of Minority Affairs for the Nagaland government, also spoke. Prof. Santosh Kumar Singh, dean of the school of sciences, oversaw the session.
The experts stressed the importance of Hindi in non-Hindi speaking regions. They want people to write more. "The camp is aimed at encouraging participants to engage in creative and innovative writing in Hindi," officials stated during the event.
Technical sessions featured insights from experts Umesh Tripathi, Dr. Sunil Kumar Shaw, Dr. Goma Sharma, Dr. Tinku Chhetri, and Dr. Noor Jamal. Dr. Vityolenou Lydia Dzüvichü managed the program logistics. Camp coordinator Dr. Brijesh Kumar delivered the final vote of thanks to wrap up the inaugural day.
