Imphal: Moirangthem Netalion represented India at the International Association for Cross-Cultural Psychology conference. The event took place at KU Leuven in Belgium from July 14 to 18. Netalion shared his research on the ethnic conflict currently gripping Manipur. He examined the psychological impact on the Meitei and Kuki-Zo communities.
His paper, titled Rethinking Integration: Identity, Acculturation, and Adaptation in Ethnic Conflict among the Meitei and Kuki-Zo Communities in Manipur, stems from his recent postgraduate work at Banaras Hindu University. Experts describe his work as a source of regional pride. Many noted his presentation as a significant step for academic discourse.
Dr. Shabana Bano and Dr. Chiinngaikim Guite supervised the project. Netalion is now waiting to start his doctoral studies at the university. He remains in Belgium following the end of the summit. The scholar is the son of folk lyricist Moirangthem Indrajit Moirang and Moirangthem Ongbi Khuraijam Sundari Leima. His family roots trace back to Ething Sendra Chingkhong in the Bishnupur district. They live in Uripok Sorbon Thingel in Imphal West.
