Fazl Ali and Sherubtse Colleges Launch Joint Bhutan Research Symposium

Kohima: Eight faculty members from Fazl Ali College traveled to Kanglung, Bhutan, on October 19 to join peers at Sherubtse College. They gathered for an international research symposium titled Interdisciplinary Academic Dialogue on Society, Science and Sustainability. The event drew students from the Royal University of Bhutan to bridge gaps between institutions. They met to share research findings.

The symposium covered social, scientific, environmental, and developmental issues. Participants presented work on indigenous knowledge, innovation, and community resilience within the Eastern Himalayan region. Students from the Environmental and Public Sciences, Chemistry, and Life Science programs joined the discussions. They learned how academic research tackles real-world problems.

The Research and Industrial Linkages initiative and the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at Sherubtse College organized the event. Organizers focused on institutional networking and building a collaborative research environment. According to the press release from Fazl Ali College, the symposium served as a platform to strengthen ties and "promote a collaborative research environment, while advancing the two colleges' shared commitment to academic excellence." The summit concluded by solidifying a formal commitment to ongoing scholarly exchange.
