Kohima: Kohima Science College in Jotsoma and Pfutsero Government College signed a memorandum of understanding on October 5, 2026. The deal went down at the Kohima Science College Conference Hall. Dr. Temjenwabang and Dr. Anungla Pongener signed the document. Faculty members and IQAC coordinators from both schools watched the proceedings.

The agreement covers apiculture, floriculture, computer applications, English, and Traditional Knowledge Systems. It sets up joint seminars, workshops, and research projects. Students get access to internships and field visits. Both colleges want to document and digitize indigenous practices, oral history, and folklore. They plan to create local databases to preserve medicinal plant use and agricultural techniques.

This partnership links hard science with local livelihoods. The schools will test traditional farming methods and push for pollinator-friendly agriculture. "The MoU will remain in force for five years from the date of signing." Officials said the project aims to drive entrepreneurship and biodiversity conservation.

Colleges will share laboratories, libraries, nurseries, and ICT equipment. The collaboration matches the goals of the National Education Policy 2020. It prioritizes multidisciplinary research and community outreach. The deal creates new paths for student development and sustainable local growth.
