Kohima: Kohima Science College and Pfutsero Government College locked in a five-year partnership. They signed a Memorandum of Understanding on October 5 at the Kohima Science College Conference Hall. Dr. Temjenwabang and Dr. Anungla Pongener signed the deal. Their faculty and IQAC coordinators watched it happen. The move aims to boost research, innovation, and community outreach.
The two schools will share labs, libraries, and greenhouses. Students gain access to field resources and ICT gear. The pact covers fields like apiculture, floriculture, computer apps, and English studies. It also puts Traditional Knowledge Systems center stage. They want to digitize indigenous folklore and medicinal plant history. The institutions stated, "The collaboration would strengthen interdisciplinary learning and research while creating opportunities for students and local communities in skill development, livelihood generation and sustainable development."
They plan joint seminars and faculty swaps. The schools will validate local farming practices and start biodiversity conservation projects. They also aim to create digital archives of oral history. This effort follows the National Education Policy 2020. The policy pushes for multidisciplinary learning. This deal lasts until October 2029.
