Kohima: ICFAI University Nagaland marked its Foundation Day and NJY Memorial Lecture on Wednesday. Staff and students gathered at the university auditorium for the event. The program commemorates Late NJ Yashashwy, who launched the ICFAI Society. His work established 11 universities across the country. Five of these institutions serve the Northeast. The university says the mission remains to make professional and traditional education affordable and accessible to deserving students.
Assistant Professor of Computer Science Rashmi Panda chaired the session. Two students, MA English candidate Keneingulie Sanyi Meyase and MA Political Science student Tangsoi Shiu, spoke to the crowd about their personal experiences at the school. Dr. Sumanta Kumar Mahapatra, an Assistant Professor of Economics, also detailed his time at the university. Organizers integrated the memorial lecture into the annual foundation schedule. The university noted, "The ICFAI initiative seeks to make professional and traditional education affordable and accessible to deserving students."
