Guwahati: Dr. Anupam Sarma earned a spot among the world’s top 2% of scientists for 2026. He serves as an Assistant Professor in the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Girijananda Chowdhury University in Assam. This ranking relies on single-year impact metrics from a database maintained by Stanford University and Elsevier.
Data crunchers analyzed h-index scores, citation counts, and other bibliometric measures to assess his professional reach. Sarma specializes in nanotechnology-based therapeutics, bionanomaterials, advanced drug delivery systems, and extracellular vesicles. His research investigates how small extracellular vesicles, or exosomes, function as potential carriers for targeted medical treatments.
Sarma traveled to New Delhi to speak at VESICON 2026. The Indian Extracellular Vesicle Society hosted the event at AIIMS between October 5 and October 7, 2026. He delivered a lecture titled "Small Extracellular Vesicles: The Journey from Biological Messengers to Smart Drug Carriers."
Leadership at Girijananda Chowdhury University praised the achievement. They noted the ranking proves his commitment to academic excellence and scientific advancement. The school views his success as a source of motivation for students and fellow faculty members.
