Former AAU Chief Kamal Malla Bujarbaruah Wins Agri 100 Award

Guwahati: Dr. Kamal Malla Bujarbaruah picked up the Agri 100 award in Bengaluru on October 1. Media platform Krishi Jagran handed out the honors to 100 people nationwide to mark their work in the farming sector. It is another big win for the veteran scientist.

Bujarbaruah served as Vice Chancellor of Assam Agricultural University and Deputy Director General for Animal Sciences at the Indian Council of Agricultural Research in New Delhi. He also directed the ICAR Research Complex for the North Eastern Hill Region. During his time at AAU, he expanded education and research programs while setting up new colleges and Krishi Vigyan Kendras. He focused on strengthening technology transfer initiatives throughout his career.

The agricultural administrator holds fellowship status with the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the National Academy of Veterinary Science. His expertise lies in livestock production and management. The National Academy of Agricultural Sciences lists his research area as "agricultural and allied sciences, with a specialisation in livestock production and management."

This latest trophy sits alongside a collection of past honors. He previously earned the Harit Ratna Award, the Agricultural Research Leadership Award, the Lifetime Achievement Award, and the Dr. N. N. Dastur Oration Award. He stays active in the field by serving on various research advisory committees and national bodies.
