Kohima: The Department of Chemistry at Kohima Science College concluded a three-day workshop on August 29. Held in Jotsoma, the event ran from August 27 to 29 under the title Recent Advances in Chemical Sciences. The Science Academies sponsored the initiative to connect students and faculty with emerging trends in the field.
Experts traveled from the Indian Institute of Science, Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, and IIT Delhi to lead the sessions. They pushed attendees to look deeper into current research methodologies. Prof Balaji R Jagirdar of IISc Bengaluru praised the host college during the closing ceremony. He urged students to "cultivate scientific curiosity and pursue research with dedication and perseverance."
Dr Daniel Kibami, the organizing coordinator, reported high engagement from the participants. Dr Lilongchem Thyug outlined the college's ongoing research work during the valedictory session. Prof Limatemjen and Prof K K Tiwari provided final remarks and thanks to the contributors. The program ended with a social gathering to bridge the gap between visiting scientists and local researchers.
