Kohima: Don Bosco Higher Secondary School in Kohima staged its Annual School Science and Arts Exhibition on July 31. The event filled the school auditorium with student-led projects. These displays showcased practical talent and solutions for everyday problems.
Er. Onongoto Soleho, Chief Mentor at the Department of Science and Technology, attended as the special guest. He praised the school for maintaining top-tier laboratories and faculty. He admitted he excelled in class work but regrets skipping extracurricular activities during his own youth. Soleho told the crowd, "Education was not confined to academics but also included extracurricular pursuits that shaped overall personality development."
The mentor pointed to a reality check for Naga students. Many struggle to hit the required cut-off marks for elite spots at IITs and AIIMS. Soleho warned that local students must find better ways to compete on the national stage. He pushed for more discipline, networking, and skill-building in the modern world. He insisted that arts and science carry equal weight.
The day started with a Bible reading from Muyeba Tikhir. Rector Rev. Fr. Dr. Mattam Xavier led the prayer. Principal Rev. Fr. Innocent Panmei, SDB, delivered the opening remarks. Keneikhienuo concluded the program with a vote of thanks.
