Manipur MLA Deploys Mobile Clinic to Reach Remote Saikul Residents

Imphal: Saikul MLA Kimneo Hangshing put a new mobile medical unit on the road September 17. She launched the service at Saikul Hill Town. The unit aims to fix the massive gap in local medical access. It serves remote areas where rugged terrain and distance stop people from getting help.

This rig acts as an outreach tool rather than a standard patient transport ambulance. It brings doctors and services directly to the doorstep of citizens in Saikul. The goal is simple. Keep distance from blocking timely medical care.

Hangshing spoke at the launch event. "Today, we are grateful to have launched a Mobile Medical Unit Ambulance for the people of Saikul, bringing essential healthcare services closer to communities, particularly those who face difficulties accessing medical facilities," she said. She added that the unit represents a major step in expanding grassroots medical delivery.

The MLA also tipped her hat to Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand. She thanked him for his backing of the project. The unit will now service Saikul and all surrounding settlements. It shifts the focus from moving patients to moving care into the heart of the community.
