Kohima: Livingstone Foundation College hosted a seminar on August 20 to address the shift toward artificial intelligence. The event, titled Building Responsible AI Usage Habits and Digital Discipline, took place in Dimapur. Staff and students joined forces with Instudia to navigate the changing academic environment.
Resource person Vishal Bardewa led the technical and interactive sessions. He laid out a roadmap for using AI as a learning aid rather than an automated machine for schoolwork. Students learned how to brainstorm with technology while keeping their own ideas at the center of their work. The sessions also covered the mechanics of fact-checking AI output and setting firm boundaries to prevent tech dependency.
Bardewa pushed for maintaining human edge. He insisted that AI should serve as a tutor to improve retention rather than a replacement for thinking. "AI should not replace human intelligence, critical thinking or creativity, but should be used to enhance comprehension and retention when used purposefully," Bardewa said.
The day ended with a sharp question and answer segment. Faculty and students grilled the panel on data privacy, ethical concerns, and the pressure to protect academic integrity in a world driven by algorithms.
