Kohima: Fountain Club and the State Council of Educational Research and Training are bringing back the Nagaland State Level Spelling Bee Championship. The event marks its 11th edition this year. It runs October 20 and 21, 2026, at the SCERT Office in Kohima.
Students in classes 6 through 9 can compete. Each school in the state can register two participants. Organizers expect high turnout. You can grab application forms and review rules online at www.fountainclub.in, www.morungexpress.com, or www.excellogics.co.in.
The club provides free food and lodging for every student. Boys and girls get separate dormitory space. Teachers and parents must pay a nominal fee for their own stays. No one gets travel money. Fountain Club president Meisi Zhasa and championship convenor Neizokhotuo Belho confirmed the details in a press release. They said the event aims to boost academic performance across the region.
Winners walk away with cash and official citations. The event honors a Champion, plus the first, second, and third runners-up. Organizers also hand out "Young Speller Award" and "Promising Speller Award" trophies for government school students. Even those reaching the quarter-finals receive citations for their effort.
