Governor Yadav Challenges Students at 32nd Spero Meliora

Kohima: Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav addressed students at the 32nd Spero Meliora on Saturday. The event took place at the Kohima Village Multipurpose Building in Ziekezou. It focused on the theme, Break the ice and steal a march. The governor praised the Kohima Village Students Union and the Dolphin Club for sustaining the program for over three decades.

Yadav spoke on the importance of independent thinking and clear communication. He claimed that success belongs to those who adapt. Literary competitions help build confidence. They foster critical thinking skills. He urged the youth to stay curious and read widely. The governor told the crowd, "Remember, true success is measured not only by what you achieve but by the positive impact you make on others."

The governor noted that the Latin motto, Spero Meliora, means I hope for better things. He urged participants to move past hesitation and seize new opportunities. He cited Swami Vivekananda to motivate the audience. He told them to "arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached."

Events included debates, extempore speeches, and various arts categories. Students participated in solo singing, elocution, quiz, and spelling bees in both English and Tenyidie. Rev Fr Innocent Panmei SDB led the invocation. Kekuolhouthie Dzüvichü delivered the welcome address. Pfuchazhünuo performed a special song. Comperes for the day were Vidilhou Vincent Yhome and Dziesebeinuo Kire. Khriesaneikuo Kire gave the final vote of thanks. Neitho-o Kuotsu, Joint Director of the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, attended as the guest of honor for the valedictory session.
