Kohima: Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav pushed students to value independent thought and clear communication during the 32nd Spero Meliora. The event took place Saturday at the Kohima Village Multipurpose Building in Ziekezou. It has run for over three decades.
Organizers included the Kohima Village Students Union and the Dolphin Club. They ran competitions covering elocution, debate, music, and writing. Students also competed in spelling bees for English and Tenyidie.
Yadav spoke on the theme of breaking the ice and taking initiative. He told the crowd, "Remember, true success is measured not only by what you achieve but by the positive impact you make on others." He linked the event motto to the pursuit of excellence and hope.
Rev Fr Innocent Panmei SDB gave the invocation. Kekuolhouthie Dzuvichu provided the welcome address. Performers and speakers included Pfuchazhnuo, Khriesaneikuo Kire, Vidilhou Vincent Yhome, and Dziesebeinuo Kire. Neitho-o Kuotsu, Joint Director of the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, attended as the Guest of Honour for the valedictory session.
