Kohima Launches VBYLD 2027 Registration Drive for Young Leaders

Kohima: The Kohima District Youth Officer and District Administration started the registration drive for the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2027. This program aims to send representatives to the Grand National Dialogue held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi from January 10 to 12, 2027. The search is on for participants aged 15 to 29 as of August 17, 2026. Interested youth must sign up via the mybharat.gov.in dashboard or use the official QR code to scan and register.

Nagaland sits in the North East Frontier Region, also known as the Purvodaya Cluster. This group includes Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur, Sikkim, and Tripura. Competitors in Kohima will work under the theme, "Act East, Cultural Leadership & Enhancing Connectivity." The goal is to turn the North East into India's gateway to Southeast Asia.

The competition timeline is strict. The Viksit Bharat Quiz is live right now and closes on September 30, 2026. Following the quiz, candidates face a thematic essay challenge and district level presentations. The State VBYLD stage runs from November 17 to December 7, 2026. Winners move on to the national stage.

Events include folk dance, folk song, painting, poetry, and nukkad natak. Technical tracks feature the Design for Bharat, Hack for Social Cause, and Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge. Institutions such as SPA Delhi, IIT Bombay, and IIT Kanpur provide support for these tasks. Officials will integrate the Youth Parliament into the program starting in 2027 to boost civic engagement.
