Kohima: ICFAI University Nagaland kicked off the season on August 19. Students celebrated Freshers Day 2026 with a lineup of performances and council introductions. The event featured a traditional round, poetry, and dance segments. Students modeled formal and casual outfits to prove their confidence.
Immanuel College in Dimapur honored 189 graduates on August 21. Paul Lokho, Director of Pro Rural, served as the commencement speaker. He told students that success relies on recognizing opportunities through informed choices. He said, "Success depends on recognising and seizing them through informed choices and decisive action." The ceremony also honored nine university toppers and featured speeches from graduates Songmo Khiamniungan and Sahina Begam.
Model Christian College in Kohima hosted its 18th Annual Freshers Meet on August 21. Following the theme Beyond Ordinary, judges crowned Thrukhumto T Yimchunger and Kriizhiini as Mr. and Miss Freshers. Students Council President Jangneichoi Kipgen opened the event, while Principal-in-Charge Dr. Mhabemo Odyuo led the closing prayer.
MGM College in Dimapur held its own Freshers Day on August 20. The event theme focused on new beginnings and possibilities. Administrator Fr Shaiju Philip addressed the crowd before Chief Guest Rev Fr Sajan Joseph, Executive Director of DAN, encouraged students to value integrity. Judges crowned Armen from the history department as Mr. Fresher and Jimei from sociology as Miss Fresher.
