Kohima: The Fountain Club and the State Council of Educational Research and Training are bringing the Nagaland State Level Spelling Bee Championship back to Kohima. This 11th edition runs October 20 to 21 at the SCERT office. Students from Classes 6 to 9 are eligible to compete. Each school in the state can send two participants.
Registration starts now. Organizers have made forms available online at www.fountainclub.in, www.morungexpress.com, and www.excellogics.co.in. You can also pick up physical copies at SCERT and DIET centers in Chiechama, Mokokchung, Wokha, Pfutsero, Mon, Tuensang, Zunheboto, and Dimapur.
Completed forms go to fountainclubkma@gmail.com. You can also drop them off at Super Travels, Hotel Japfu, the Equipments and Sports shop near Razhu Point, or the NSTCB Ltd High School junction branch in Kohima.
The competition carries significant rewards. The winner takes home 80,000 rupees. The second, third, and fourth place finishers earn 60,000, 40,000, and 2,000 rupees. Quarter finalists receive 10,000 rupees each. Officials noted that the Young Speller and Promising Speller will also receive 10,000 rupees each. The event organizers expect a strong turnout, stating, "The participation forms and terms and conditions for the 11th edition of the championship can be downloaded" from the official websites.
