Guwahati: Kharuabandha police landed a suspect in Hatsingimari, Assam, following a targeted anti-drug sweep. Officers apprehended Nurul Asid after finding him with a stash of illegal goods. He had 161 narcotic tablets and a single bottle of cough syrup hidden on his person.
Asid is currently in custody. Investigators are now working to track the origin of the seized substances. The department remains focused on uncovering the wider supply network, stating that "further investigation is underway to ascertain the source of the seized substances and identify any others involved in the alleged drug supply network."
