Guwahati: Security forces pulled 8.224 kilograms of morphine from a car at Badarpur Ghat on August 10. The stash is worth roughly Rs 13 crore. Police and the 38 Assam Rifles teamed up for the raid after getting a tip. They found the drugs hidden inside a secret chamber built into the vehicle fuel tank.

Officers arrested Dola Raja of Panchgram at the scene. Sribhumi SSP Leena Doley confirmed the operation involved top brass from Cachar and Sribhumi police. "Following the seizure, police have launched an investigation to uncover the suspected larger drug trafficking network behind the consignment," officials stated.

The suspect remains in custody. Interrogators are pressing Raja to name his accomplices. Police want the rest of the gang. They expect more arrests soon.
