Agartala: Kailashahar police are investigating a teacher at the Phulbarikandi Hafizia Madrasa in Barkhala village. Manaf Ali filed a complaint on Sunday at 10 pm after his son returned home with visible injuries on his hands and legs. The father claims the teacher, known as the Chhoto Huzur, beat the boy because he failed to answer a question during his studies.
Ali went to the school seeking answers before going to the police. He says the school promised a talk but failed to act. The boy’s family claims this abuse has happened for a long time. Ali spoke to the media about the incident: "Disciplining a student for failing to answer a question was one thing, but physically assaulting a minor in the name of education could not be accepted."
The school is located under the Phulbarikandi panchayat in the Gournagar RD Block of Unakoti district. Reports suggest the two teachers at the institution are originally from Assam. Officials have not reached the school leadership for comment. Meanwhile, rumors are circulating online that people are being pressured to delete social media posts about the beating. Police have not verified these claims yet.
