Guwahati: A minor student died overnight inside the Fulkakata Girls' Madrasa in Assam's Dhubri district. The girl was found inside a room at the school, which sits under the Fulkakata Gram Panchayat. Her family claims teachers sexually assaulted and killed her. They identified the suspects as Yousuf Maulana, Alom Shah Maulana, and Maulana Abdus Salam.

Tensions are high. The victim's parents accuse local leaders of burying the truth. They specifically named Fulkakata Gram Panchayat President Makibur, former President Hanif Ali, and Zonal Panchayat members Azhar, Abed Dewani, and Nurul of orchestrating a cover-up. The family urged the Assam government to shut down the institution, stating, "Take action against such Madrasas and immediately shut them down before exploiting other daughters."

Fakirganj police arrived at the madrasa to secure the site. They moved the girl's body to Dhubri Medical College and Hospital on Friday for an autopsy. The family has now petitioned the Dhubri District Senior Superintendent of Police for a fast and transparent investigation. Investigators are waiting on the medical report to file official charges.
