Guwahati: Nazneen Rahman of Guwahati is the sole Indian representative chosen for the first Women Who Rally Leadership Summit. She joined 19 other coaches from around the globe at the Saddlebrook Resort in Tampa, Florida. The event ran from July 25 to 26. It kicked off a 10-month leadership program run by the Professional Tennis Registry and the Professional Pickleball Registry.
Rahman survived a tough selection process. Officials picked her based on her vision for coaching and her history of developing other players. She spent two days discussing how to improve racquet sports through better education and inclusive leadership.
Milena Vidos, Vice President of the Professional Tennis Registry, noted the importance of the group. "The inaugural cohort represents the passion, leadership and commitment needed to shape the future of racquet sports," Vidos said.
Rahman is a sports entrepreneur and the founder of KazirangaPro Sports Network. She previously reached a career-high ITF World No. 8 ranking in Mixed Doubles for the 45 plus category. She also captained the Indian Women Seniors Team in Portugal and played in the 2023 ITF Seniors World Championships in Türkiye. Currently, she serves as the Secretary of the Assam Pickleball Association. Her work focuses on grassroots growth and getting more women into the game. Rahman expects this new program to bring better international coaching standards back to India.
