Itanagar: Flash floods destroyed an Army porter camp at Tapa, located near the strategically vital Darmu Pass in Arunachal Pradesh. The camp vanished as relentless monsoon rains triggered catastrophic flooding and landslides across the Kurung Kumey district. The site sits near the India-China border and serves as a key access point in the high-altitude region.

The Kumey River surged past the danger mark and inundated Parsi Parlo. Floodwaters swallowed the Inspection Bungalow, government schools, private homes, and entire residential colonies. Authorities confirmed the road linking Parsi Parlo to the district headquarters at Koloriang is severed. Officials issued a grim warning: "Local officials have issued safety advisories, urging residents to avoid floodwaters and remain alert as continuous rainfall continues to push river levels higher."

Roads disappeared beneath the rising water. Severe soil erosion wiped out bridges, leaving remote mountain villages isolated. Rescue efforts face massive hurdles because the rough terrain and broken infrastructure prevent crews from reaching affected areas. This disaster is just one of many hitting the state this season, as infrastructure across Arunachal Pradesh crumbles under constant rainfall.
