Imphal: RPI National President Ramdas Athawale lands in Imphal this Monday. He arrives with a mission. The Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment will define the party stance on the social and political tensions gripping Manipur.
RPI National Secretary Maheshwar Thounaojam confirmed the visit during a press conference at the party office in Keishampat. He signaled that the discussion will focus heavily on the census and the demand for the National Register of Citizens. Maheshwar highlighted deep fears regarding illegal immigration and the potential threat to the state indigenous population.
The party has already adopted a firm stance on these hot-button topics. "No NRC, No Census," Maheshwar stated. He argued that current conditions force political parties to pick a side. He believes action must favor public interest over personal gain or election cycles.
Maheshwar also slammed state leaders of national parties for staying quiet. He challenged them to push local concerns up the chain to central leadership. The visit aims to bridge this communication gap and show exactly where the RPI stands on the future of the state.
