Itanagar: Koloriang MLA Pani Taram surveyed flood-ravaged border zones in Arunachal Pradesh this week. He inspected Damin, Paniasang, and Parsi Parlo by air and ground to gauge the destruction from recent flash floods. These remote areas sit near the Indo-China border. Infrastructure is failing.
Landslides blocked key roads across the 21-Koloriang Assembly Constituency. Several bridges collapsed under the pressure of the storms. Government schools and local buildings sustained heavy damage. Access to isolated villages remains cut off. Taram traveled with the Kurung Kumey Zilla Parishad Chairperson, the Damin Zilla Parishad Member, and officers from the Indo-Tibetan Border Police and the Border Roads Organisation.
Taram promised state aid to the stranded residents. He plans to submit a damage report to the government to secure funding for repairs. Restoring supply lines is the goal. "The Arunachal Pradesh government was committed to providing all possible assistance for immediate relief, restoration of road connectivity and rehabilitation of the affected areas," Taram said.
Locals welcomed the visit and the assessment of their situation. Residents pressed for the rapid return of public services. Officials remain on the ground to manage the cleanup.
