Itanagar: Marpi Karlo is headed to the big leagues. The eleven-year-old shooter from Lower Siang district just punched her ticket to the National Shooting Championship Competition in New Delhi. She earned her spot after posting a score of 369 out of 400 at the 13th North East Zone Shooting Championship in Guwahati.
Karlo currently attends Class 7 at VKV Nirjuli. She dominated the range between August 25 and 30 to qualify for the Sub-Youth and Youth categories. She is the daughter of Jummar Karlo and represents a major win for emerging talent in Arunachal Pradesh.
The Arunachal Pradesh Rifle Association celebrated the result. President Chukhu Apa praised the girl for her hard work. He said, "Her performance reflects her dedication, discipline and commitment to the sport."
The association expects more wins from her in the future. Karlo now prepares to carry the state colors to the national level.
