Meghalaya BJP MLA AL Hek Warns Protesters at Jantar Mantar to Follow Law

Shillong: Meghalaya BJP MLA AL Hek weighed in on the ongoing demonstration at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on October 15. He warned that while democratic assembly is a right, activists must stay inside the lines. Chaos is not a protest.

Hek insisted that any crowd must operate inside the constitutional framework of India. He demands that organizers avoid provocation at all costs. "If it is within the framework of the Constitution, a peaceful protest is allowed. There should be no provocation, and nobody should take the law into their own hands," Hek said.

The legislator made a sharp split between legal assembly and criminal conduct. He expects the authorities to step in whenever protesters break the rules. Anyone who decides to seize control or ignore established procedure must face punishment. Public order remains a priority, and Hek demands that citizens exercise their rights with absolute respect for the law.
