Arunachal Wushu Athlete Nyeman Wangsu Secures Spot for 2026 Asian Games

Itanagar: Nyeman Wangsu earned her ticket to the 20th Asian Games. The Wushu star will represent Team India in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. The competition runs from September 19 to October 4, 2026.

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu praised the athlete for the accomplishment. He noted that the selection proves her grit and years of hard work. The state leader expects her to compete with total confidence. "Arunachal is Proud. India is Proud!" Khandu said during his tribute to the athlete.

Khandu urged Wangsu to bring home glory for her home state and the nation. The government expects her to perform at her peak when the games begin in Japan.

Beyond the sports arena, Khandu shifted his focus to the glamour circuit. He sent his backing to Pura Sumpi, the reigning Miss Universe Arunachal Pradesh, as she competes in the Miss Universe India 2026 grand finale at Zee Studios in Jaipur. The Chief Minister also shouted out the entire Team Miss Universe Arunachal, directed by Takam Anju, for their work heading into the competition.
