Agartala: EMT Prasenjit Sukla Baidya delivered a healthy baby inside a moving ambulance this past Friday. He assisted 25-year-old Pusti Rung Reang, the wife of Janmajoy Reang, while transporting her from Kumarghat Primary Health Centre to Unakoti District Hospital. Reang, a resident of Krishnatilla, went into labor during the transit.

Baidya handled the emergency with professional skill. The mother and newborn are doing well. This event marks the fourth time Baidya has successfully managed a childbirth inside an ambulance. Observers describe his commitment as, "courage under pressure and compassion in crisis."

The transport operates under the 102 Ambulance Project, which began in March 2020. It functions through a partnership between the National Health Mission and the Community Action Through Motivation Programme. Former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb inaugurated the service to aid patients in rural Tripura.
