Kohima: Grace Nursing and Health Sciences Institute held a two-day health initiative in Padumpukhuri village, Dimapur. The event kicked off on August 7 with a breast cancer awareness session for students. Experts from Medanta-The Medicity in Gurugram led the training. Dr. Rupak Das and senior nurse Suzy Hazel Pyngrope worked alongside GNHSI Principal Watikumla Amlari to stress the value of early detection.
The second day focused on community health. A free medical camp opened on August 8 at the institute campus. Residents from Padumpukhuri joined faculty and staff to access various medical services. Doctors provided blood pressure screenings, random blood sugar tests, ECGs, bone mineral density scans, and pulmonary function tests.
Er T SAO Sangtam, Director of the TSAO Grace Educational Welfare Foundation, praised the visiting team for their efforts. He highlighted the cooperation from local leadership. Sangtam said, "I expressed gratitude to the Almighty for the successful completion of the programme and appreciated the Medanta team for its professional expertise, commitment and support." Organizers plan to host similar events to boost preventive care in the region.
