Kohima: The Lions and Leo Club of Dimapur installed a fresh Board of Directors for the 2026-27 term during a Saturday ceremony. Past District Governor Lion Balram Singh Rathor oversaw the proceedings at the club headquarters. He challenged the members to prioritize humanitarian efforts. Rathor told the assembly, "Service should become a way of life."

Basu Damani takes over as president for the upcoming session. He will work alongside secretary Selendra Kr Ajmera and treasurer Saurav Jain. The new leadership team replaces the 2025-26 board, which featured president Sanjay Jaiswal, secretary Sumit Jain, and treasurer Selendra Kr Ajmera. The Leo Club also swore in its new officers: president Happy Jain, secretary Sakshi Jain, and treasurer Rashika Jain.

Damani highlighted the club’s fifty-year history of community work. The organization plans to revive its Mission Sight for All program, which previously helped thousands of patients, after talks with the government. Priorities for the new board include building multipurpose event space, continuing vaccination drives, and launching a blood bank with the State Health Department. Damani specifically credited Lion Anil Tongya for his recent health sector contributions.

The club remains proud of its work during the Covid-19 pandemic. They ran one of the largest vaccination drives in the region. Damani thanked the community leaders and sister clubs for their ongoing support as the organization starts its next chapter.
