Kohima: The Rotary Club of Kohima installed its new Board of Directors for the 2026-27 term on July 17. The 24th annual ceremony took place at Hotel Japfu. Charter President Dr. Rosemary Dzuvichu officiated the proceedings. Dr. Keneilhoulie Medom takes over as president. Neingutuo Usou will serve as vice president, while N. Pipen Yanthan and Kevisano Maria take on the roles of secretary and treasurer.
Guest of honor Achumbemo Kikon, an advisor to the Chief Minister of Nagaland, attended the event. The club inducted him as an honorary member for his public service. Kikon challenged those in attendance to rethink current habits. "The present generation has essentially borrowed the earth from future generations," Kikon said. He pushed for local conservation projects.
The club expanded its ranks. Four new members joined the organization. During the program, 20 women received certificates for completing a 2025-26 tailoring course. Outgoing secretary Amongla C presented the annual report, followed by a valedictory address from outgoing president Kevino Savino.
President Medom pledged to follow the motto Service Above Self. The group plans to prioritize women's empowerment, youth development, and peacebuilding. They will also push for cross-cultural collaboration under the global theme Creating a Lasting Impact through Rotary. A delegation from the Rotary Club of Dimapur, led by president Pradeep Goel, attended to show support. Veteran Rotarian Om Prakash Gupta addressed the crowd. Past president Kevilenuo Solo anchored the event. N. Pipen Yanthan delivered the final vote of thanks.
