Kohima: Lions Club Dimapur installed its 2026-27 board on Saturday at its club premises. Past District Governor Lion Balram Singh Rathor officiated the ceremony. He told the assembly, "Service should become a way of life." Basu Damani takes over as president. Selendra Kr Ajmera serves as secretary, and Saurav Jain works as treasurer. The club plans to restart its Mission Sight for All program and wants to open a blood bank with the State Health Department.
Damani highlighted the club's 50-year history. It focuses on social, educational, and medical aid. During the pandemic, the organization ran a massive vaccination drive. The Leo Club Dimapur also installed its leaders. Happy Jain is president, Sakshi Jain is secretary, and Rashika Jain is treasurer. The outgoing board included Sanjay Jaiswal, Sumit Jain, and Selendra Kr Ajmera.
The Rotary Club of Kohima held its 24th installation on July 17 at Hotel Japfü. Dr. Keneilhoulie Medom is the new president. Neingutuo Usou acts as vice president, N Pipen Yanthan as secretary, and Kevisano Maria as treasurer. Charter President Dr. Rosemary Dzüvichü led the ceremony. The club also inducted four new regular members.
Advisor to the Chief Minister Achumbemo Kikon joined as an honorary member. He warned the crowd that environmental health is slipping. "The present generation has essentially borrowed the earth from future generations," Kikon stated. The club awarded tailoring certificates to 20 women during the event. Outgoing president Kevino Savino delivered the valedictory address. The group intends to push women's empowerment and youth development across the coming year.
