Kohima: External assessors Dr. Rajkumar Kapan and Dr. Bijan Das visited Khehokhu Health & Wellness Centre on Monday. The visit served as a formal kickoff for the upcoming 2026 National Quality Assurance Standards national level assessment. They are evaluating how the facility manages patient care, service delivery, documentation, and infection control protocols.
The assessors addressed local staff directly to ease nerves. They stated, "NQAS is not a fault-finding exercise." Instead, the process aims to support the center in refining its operations to deliver better community care. They praised the facility for its strong teamwork and deep community ties.
Dr. A. Narola of Kuhuboto PHC chaired the event, which opened with an invocation by Pastor Kughavi Katty. Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr. Y. Kheshika thanked the team for their work in primary healthcare. Village Chief Hokiye Yepthomi discussed how local support keeps the facility running. Community Health Officer Tiala outlined the center's services, which include curative care, NCD screenings, and outreach work under Ayushman Bharat.
The Khehokhu Village Self-Help Group performed a special song before Hovitoli Aye delivered the benediction. Other officials in attendance included Dr. Lhishelo Tsuhah, Dr. Ayangla Saku, and Dr. Atoli, along with representatives from the DPMU Dimapur and BPMU Niuland.
