BPF Sets By-Election Strategy for Three BTC Seats

Guwahati: The Bodoland People’s Front Policy-Making Body gathered in Kokrajhar on September 19. Party president Hagrama Mohilary chaired the meeting. Members paid tribute to Assamese artiste Zubeen Garg before turning to business. The group mapped out plans for the three contested BTC seats.

The party will field its own candidates in Kajalgaon and Rowta. They plan to leave the Darangajuli constituency for the BJP. Leaders pushed for a quick vote. They intend to write the Election Commission to demand an early election schedule.

Mohilary expects a busy season. The party will release a magazine on October 5 to detail the accomplishments of his administration over the past year. They also pledged to distribute land pattas through local Circle Offices. Mohilary added, "The BPF would also organise district-wise youth festivals during the upcoming Puja holidays." The party is currently firming up its campaign strategy across all regions.
