Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma marked the one-year anniversary of the Hagrama Mohilary-led Bodoland Territorial Council on Monday, October 5. He credited a triple-engine alliance between the NDA governments in New Delhi, Dispur, and Kokrajhar for driving rapid change. Officials claim this cooperation accelerates growth across the Bodoland Territorial Region.

Sarma pushed a vision for the area. The region must grow. He noted that the state is honoring every clause of the Bodo Peace Accord to secure lasting stability. This work moves forward under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The administration is pumping money into local welfare. Residents now receive help from the Orunodoi scheme, the Chief Minister’s Atmanirbhar Asom Abhiyan, and the Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan, alongside free food rations. State leaders also greenlit a Rs 1,000 crore road infrastructure package. Officials want the BTR to become a major hub for manufacturing and logistics.

The BTR covers the districts of Kokrajhar, Chirang, Baksa, and Udalguri. Political control shifted last year when the Bodoland People’s Front, headed by Mohilary, claimed 28 out of 40 council seats in the September 2025 elections, while the BJP took five. Mohilary took his oath as the council's Chief Executive Member in October 2025.

Sarma praised the ongoing partnership in a recent statement. "Our Triple Engine NDA Govt in Delhi, Dispur and Kokrajhar is ensuring that the region grows and progresses swiftly on the developmental ladder," he said.
