Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma recently confirmed his early acting career. He appeared in the movie Koka Deuta Nati Aru Hati Part 1 at age nine. Public interest spiked after Sarma shared the story on social media. Many people reached out asking for confirmation.
Sarma addressed the questions during a Facebook Live session on July 16. He noted the curiosity surrounding his brief time as a child actor. He did not confirm a movie is currently in the works. However, he left the door wide open for his life story to reach the big screen.
Sarma laid out his requirements for a film adaptation. He said, "If any day I get a chance to write a biopic on myself, then I will definitely include my memories of Koka Deuta Nati Aru Hati - Part 1, when I acted in the movie at the age of nine." This reveal adds a new chapter to the history of the Northeast political leader.
