Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma handed out 439 appointment letters to new state employees. The event took place at Kala Kshetra in Guwahati. Jobs went to four distinct departments: Cooperation, Labour Welfare, Public Health Engineering, and Water Resources.

The state wants more workers. Recruitment is a priority. During the ceremony, Sarma noted that officials saved a failing bank by creating new work positions. "The government had created 175 new posts in a bank that was on the verge of closure," the Chief Minister said.

This push aims to fill gaps in staffing. It aims to grow job opportunities across the board. The administration hopes these hires will strengthen the state infrastructure.
