Assam Man Secures Record After Applying for 120 Government Jobs

Guwahati: Deepjyoti Kakoti reached a career milestone. The Sivasagar resident applied for 120 government jobs between 2019 and 2021. He started his test prep back in 2017. His grind paid off in a big way.

Kakoti cleared multiple written exams during his two-year stretch. He received two to three appointment letters for state and Central government posts. The Kalugaon Khemdoi Kakoti Gaon native is now a Grade III employee at Sivasagar Girls College.

His sheer volume of applications earned him formal recognition. Kakoti holds spots in the Assam Book of Records and the National Book of Records. He also earned the IBR Achievers honour from the India Book of Records. Observers view his journey as an "example of perseverance for other job aspirants" across the state.
