Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein met in Namsai on Saturday to finalize plans for the upcoming exposition of the holy relics of Buddha Shakyamuni. The event runs from November 1 to 15, 2026, marking the 2569th Vesak Buddha Purnima. State officials spent the day mapping out security, logistics, and departmental cooperation to ensure the proceedings go smoothly.
The relics will travel to three locations during the tour. Devotees can view the items in Tawang and Bomdila before the final stop at the Golden Pagoda in Namsai. The exhibition runs in Namsai from November 11 to 15, 2026. This period gives visitors a chance to receive Darshan and seek blessings.
Mein highlighted the importance of the event for local heritage. He said, “Discussions focused on ensuring seamless coordination and adequate arrangements for this spiritually and culturally significant occasion.” The deputy chief minister praised the combined work of spiritual leaders, elected officials, and community groups. He expects the event to showcase the state’s values of peace and compassion.
